San Francisco, Dominican Republic. – A drug ring that recruited mules in the northeast city of San Francisco, to send them abroad with narcotics in their stomachs and stuck to their bodies, was busted last night by Antinarcotics (DNCD) agents during a raid.

On its Website, the DNCD said five people were arrested and seized a stash of capsules of cocaine, several vehicles, race motorcycles and a firearm of unspecified calibre.

The agents uncovered the mule recruiters in a house downtown, and arrested Arelis Maria Santiago, Junior Martin Amparo, Jesus Vicente Rodriguez, Wellington Manuel de la Cruz and Raul Pimentel Santos, and escorted to DNCD headquarters in Santo Domingo for questioning.

During the last 20 years, San Francisco has been the country’s most notorious city for drug cases per capita.
