Santo Domingo.- The National Metorology Office (ONAMET) forecasts scattered showers and thunderstorms over much of the country Tuesday, from the prevailing east-northeast wind.

It said rainfall will increase for the entire island Wednesday and Thursday, especially the North, Northeast, Central Mountains and border area, from an approaching upper-level trough located east of Puerto Rico.

Meanwhile Tropical Storm Leslie was located west-southwest of Newfoundland, moving North-northeast at around 65 kph, with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph.
