Libya killings heighten security at U.S. Embassy

Santo Domingo.- Security at the U.S. Embassy in the Dominican capital has been heightened in the wake of attacks that killed U.S. ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and other officials.

Around 20 agents from the Camp Duarte Antiriot Police were deployed at the site starting 7am Wednesday, scattered in front of the embassy, on the Navarro, corner Penson streets, and he extends to Caonabo St.

One of the agents, who didn’t provide his name, said they were ordered to increase security, and doesn’t know how long thy’ll remain at the site.
