U.S. ambassador asks Dominican partners to condemn attack

Santo Domingo.- "It’s with deep regret that I heard this morning about the death of my colleague and fellow U.S. Ambassador, Chris Stevens and three other U.S. officials in Benghazi, Libya occurred yesterday," said U.S. ambassador in Dominican Republic Raul Yzaguirre, who called on Washington’s local partners to condemn the attack.

“As President Obama said in his speech this morning, these four civil servants exemplify the commitment to freedom, justice and cooperation among nations and people around the world and in stark contrast to those who cruelly killed them," the diplmat said.

"I have been touched by all Dominicans who’ve approached me today to express their condolences and support, and I call on all our partners in the Dominican Republic to condemn this heinous attack. While we remain united with the families of those we’ve lost, we’re committed to continue their work," the diplomat said in a statement quoted by elnuevodiario.com.do.
