More than 100 government officials file statements

Santo Domingo.- As of noon Wednesday 106 government officials had filed their financial statements within 30 days after taking the oath as Law 82-79 stipulates.

President Danilo Medina and Vice president Margarita Cedeño top the list of officials who’ve filed their statements to the National Treasury within one month after being sworn.

Have complied with the law

Presidency Chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo, Administrative minister José Ramón Peralta, Legal adviser Cesar Pina, Finance minister Simon Lizardo, and Armed Forces minister Sifrido Pared have also filed.

Central bankerHector Valdez, Energy Utility (CDEEE) CEO Ruben Bichara, and Sports minister Jaime David Fernandez, have also filed, among others.

Penalty

The law states that the salary of the official will be retained until they file before the deadline, for which the ministers designated August 16, with more than 30 days without complying, cannot charge the 25th of this month.
