Police nab 3 charged with U.S. Social Security fraud

Santiago.- Three people, alleged leaders of an international network which electronically defrauded U.S. citizens out of their Social Security earnings, were arrested in the town of Moca on Monday.

San Francisco de Macoris natives Jose Manuel Hernandez, Iliana Reynoso Martinez and Maria Isabel Hernandez, 26, 24 and 22, respectively, were arrested in Honda Accord, in the sector los Robles, Moca township.

The police seized six laptops, three phones, cash troops, six Magic Jack, eight modems, three Datatravels and three microchips.

Also seized were various bills with personal information of U.S. citizens, a CD and 108 sheets of hand written paper, containing social security information and addresses of citizens living in the U.S.
