Haiti President’s chopper damaged during tests; no injuries

Santo Domingo.- Haiti President Michel Martelly’s helicopter sustained minor damages at Higüero Airport north of the Dominican capital Thursday morning, but no one was hurt.

The Dolphin, 5-passenger, two pilot executive helicopter, registry N646GE was piloted by the Dominican Fidel Baez hit a hangar and tore its main rotor.

According to reports, the chopper with the Haiti Presidency’s logo, is frequently brought to the country for maintenance.

The pilot was reportedly conducting routine test maneuvers when the rotor struck a hangar, as damages will take several weeks to repair.
