Dominican nanny in murder of 2 children is clinically dead, reports

NEW YORK. – Dominican nanny Joselyn Ortega, 50, accused of murdering two children in her care on Thursday, is clinically dead, according to police sources quoted by local media yesterday.

The authorities said doctors await only her family’s authorization to disconnect the respirator to officially certify Ortega’s death.

The New York Post reported that Ortega stabbed herself so hard in the neck trying to slit her throat, that she perforated a bone in her neck.

NY Police had been awaiting Ortega’s recovery to charger her with fatally stabbing Leo, 2 and Lucia Krim, 6, in the bathtub of their parents Kelvin and Marina Krim’s apartment, in a building on 75th St. in Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
