Dom. Rep. flights still canceled as US airports ramp cleanup

Santo Domingo.- The conditions still hampering some United States airports in Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath has led more canceled flight by American Airlines, JetBlue, United and Delta Airlines on Wednesday, to including the cities of New York, Newark, New Jersey and Boston.

At least 28 flights have been canceled at Las Americas International Airport, while three JetBlue flights to New York were affected at the Puerto Plata terminal.

Among the hardest hit U.S. terminals was New York’s La Guardia, whose tarmac was described as ”an extension of Long Island Sound.”

The Dominican airports management company (Aerodom) is till recommends that travelers locally contact those and other airlines which fly to those cities, to verify the date of the rescheduled flights.
