U.S. extradition request stirs long-forgotten “Quirino” case

Santo Domingo.- Justice minister Francisco Dominguez on Friday said he doesn’t rule out that other senior military officers are involved in the drug trafficking network formerly headed by ex Dominican Army captain Quirino Paulino, who was indicted in New York, but whose whereabouts have been kept secret by U.S. authorities.

The official, speaking after signing an agreement aimed at preventing violence against women, declined to provide further details, despite reporters’ insistence.

The U.S. requested the extradition of ex Navy Captain and former National Drugs Control Agency Operations Chief Francisco Hiraldo Guerrero on drug trafficking charges, in the long forgotten “Quirino” case.
