Santo Domingo.– The national police last night said that two of four men have been arrested and are accused of killing Pascual "Cutá" Pérez, ex Major League pitcher.

According to the police, one of the men was identified as Ariel Santos, a friend of Cutá’s. The people of Nigua, in San Cristóbal, yesterday went to the municipal cemetery to say goodbye to the former baseball player who had been killed Thursday at his home in Haina.

Perez played for the Yankees between 1990 and 1991. Throughout his big league career, he was surrounded by controversies. In 1991, he tested positive for drugs and was suspended for the entire season.

He is best known for getting lost on the highway in the United States while trying to reach the ballpark to start the game for the Atlanta Braves.
