Public Health: Suspected cholera cases decrease in northern region

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Public Health Ministry on Wednesday announced a significant decrease in suspected cholera cases in the town of Moca, northern Espaillat province, where authorities continue epidemiologic surveillance.

It said in the Bencosme provincial hospital’s Cholera Unit, seven people have been admitted with diarrhea and dehydration, with three others treated and released.

Public Health also reports that the four people who tested positive for cholera in that province have already recovered, adding the authorities continue the education programs to prevent contagious diseases across the country.
