Gunman robs RD$4.0M from supermarket near the President’s condo
Santo Domingo.- Investigators arrived in the Bravo supermarket in the upscale sector Los Cacicazgos shortly before noon after two men at gunpoint forced the manager on his way to deposit at the bank office a with four million pesos in a briefcase.
According to preliminary reports, two men on a motorcycle stopped in front of the supermarket and one of them intercepted the manager who was taking the suitcase to the Scotiabank, in the same building.
Bravo spokesman Juan Francisco Martinez said security cameras recorded a man dressed in jeans and a red cap when he dismounts the motorcycle and holds up the manager with a gun.
The gunman then ran with the bag back to the street where his accomplice was awaiting on the motorcycle, and fled west along Enriquillo Av., less than two blocks from president Danilo Medina’s residence.
