Thousands walk for values and a halt to violence

Santo Domingo.- Convinced that Dominican society has time to recover human and Christian values??, thousands of people took part in the walk "One step for my family" along the seaside Malecon, to say no to violence.

Entire families participated in the walk to mark Day of Non-Violence Against Women," which also sought to create awareness of the need to recover values ??and put a halt to the violence.

The Catholic church organized the event with 11 dioceses to promote the values??, including faith, hope, trust, communication, tolerance, forgiveness, ethics, loyalty, initiative, industriousness, perseverance, love, gratitude, loyalty and justice.

To the beat of drums, pickets in hand to promote different values, with balloons and Christian songs, children, young adults and seniors from different social classes, arrived early to the activity that began around 9am at Omar Torrijos Square on Lincoln Avenue, and ended at the Juan Baron Plaza on the Malecon, with a mass headed by cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez.
