One year in jail for suspect in shooting where engineer lost an eye

Santo Domingo.- A National District court sent José Manuel Vidal (Memín) to one year in prison to await trial on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, and aggravated assault against the engineer Francina Hungria Hernandez, who could lose sight in her second eye after losing the first in last week’s daylight attack in downtown Santo Domingo.

Hungria, currently in Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, could lose her vision from the gunshot wound during the attack caught on tape on Lincoln Av., in the Piantini sector.

Permanent Attention judge Jose Alejandro Vargas also sent co-accused Cerso González Montero (Nariz) and José Miguel Mora (El Gordo) to spend three months in jail while the investigation concludes

Regarding the co-accused Melvin Perez (Bolulo) his defense lawyer Mercedes de Paula challenged Vargas affirming bias, for which a hearing to rule on the motion was scheduled for December 21.
