Agents kill 3 a day after lawmakers ask Police to “rub out” thugs

Santo Domingo.- Three suspects were shot dead today in an alleged shootout with police in the community Mucha Agua, southern San Cristóbal province, one day after several lawmakers urged the National Police to “rub out” the thugs.

Via Twitter, Police spokesman Maximo Baez said the three men, yet to be identified, were wanted "for committing multiple robberies" reported by the victims.

He said the alleged gang leader Elvin Lorenzo “Picho,” 25, was arrested and had three wallets, a stolen motorbikes, and around two ounces of marijuana. "He (the suspect) said he had sold 15 stolen motorcycles in Mucha Agua, the site of the crimes."

He added that the Police, in coordination with the Office of the Prosecutor, is conducting the required ballistic tests.
