Soldiers might patrol with police throughout 2013; Armed Forces Chief
Santo Domingo.- Armed Forces minister Sigfrido Pared on Friday said the mixed military-police patrols implemented for the holidays could continue throughout next year.
Pared said the continued military presence in the streets will depend on how effective the agents are in dealing with crimes.
The official’s statements came after president Danilo Medina headed the graduation ceremony of the Dominican Air Force Academy’s 42 new officers, held at the San Isidro Naval Base.
Medina handed the 42 new officers the commission ribbons, before they were handed their class rings.
