Authorities to launch safety Christmas measures

Santo Domingo.– In order to save lives and reduce the number of traffic accidents and incidents during Christmas and New Year, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) will start tomorrow the operational plan "For the Common Unit 2012-2013."

According to the COE, 32.455 police and military agents, as well as doctors and paramedics will participate in the operation nationwide.

More than 1.500 emergency posts, 144 ambulances and three helicopters located in strategic areas and highways will be part of the plan, which also includes a mobile hospital and nine regional control centers.
