Santo Domingo Metro II free until New Year

Santo Domingo.- The second line of the city’s Metro willcontinue carrying passengers free of charge until January 1st, from9:00 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Since the new line opened on atemporary basis for Christmas and New Year, thousands of users have used theservice that has a total of 15 trains made up of 45 cars that run from theRamón Cáceres station on Duarte avenue at the corner of Quinto Centenarioavenue, until the María Montez station on Luperón avenue (km 9 of the Duartehighway).

The subdirector of the TransportReorganization Office (Opret), Leonel Carrasco, said that the opening of line 2was aimed at familiarizing users with the system.

Citizens who have used the trainsexpressed their satisfaction at the comfort, safety and speed with which theyreached their destinations.

They described the Metro service asefficient and favorable for the country.

As of today the timetable will befrom 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
