Retired general wanted by the U.S. on drug charges wants accusers’ names

Santo Domingo.- Former National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) chief of operations Francisco Hiraldo Guerrero on Monday asked the Supreme Court Justices to demand that the United States, which wants him in extradition, reveal the names of those who accuse him of drug trafficking.

The retired Navy commodore (brig. general) made the request himself in the hearing, referring to the names of cooperating witnesses that the prosecution identifies only as "W1", "W2", "W3" and "CC1."

The prosecution asked to reject the defense motion for acquittal, claiming that the extradition request didn’t mean a guilty sentence.

Justices Miriam Germán, Frank Soto, Alejandro Moscoso, Juan Cruz, Hirohito Reyes and Esther Agelán recessed prior to handing down their ruling at a later date.
