Antinarcotic agents arrest 115 drug dealers in La Romana

Santo Domingo.– In the last five days antinarcotic agents arrested 115 people who sold small amounts of drugs in La Romana, in the eastern region. During the raid 764 portions of various types of drugs were seized, even though their weight was not specified.

According to the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), most of the portions were cocaine but the agents also seized marijuana and crack.

Nearly 10 tons of drugs were seized during 2012 in 28,000 raids and searches. The number of people arrested increased to 27,000; 96 percent of them male and of various nationalities, especially from Haiti, Spain and the United States.
