Santo Domingo’s Leones win 15th Dominican baseball crown

SANTIAGO.- Santo Domingo’s Leones won their 15th Dominican Winter Baseball crown Tuesday night, beating Santiago’s Aguilas 3-0 in the final game, played at Cibao stadium.

Fernando Tatis doubled and homered for the Leones’ three runs and their second in consecutive championship, in a historic five-game sweep of the Aguilas del Cibao.

Tatis went 3 for 3 including a two-run double s in the second inning off starter Marco Tovar and blasted a solo homer in the seventh off Juan Sandoval.
