Heart attack kills the country’s most prolific cartoonist

Santo Domingo.- Harold Priego, the country’s most prolific cartoonist ever, passed away Saturday, and will be given a posthumous tribute at 11am today.

Priego, who created the characters Boquechivo, Diogenes and Rosca among others, died of a sudden heart attack Saturday afternoon. He was rushed to the Abel Gonzalez clinic, where staff was unable to revive him.

Diario Libre editor in chief Adriano Miguel Tejada said the Omnimedia media group will pay homage to Priego at its offices, right where the statues of his famous characters stand.
