Electric glitch strands subway commuters for half an hour

Santo Domingo.- An electrical outage Friday morning left hundreds of commenters stranded in several stations of Santo Domingo’s subway, as confirmed by the deputy director of the Transport Reform Office (Opret).

Leonel Carrasco said an electrical failure occurred when a 69,000 volt line located at the sector Puerto Isabela triggered the alarm which halts the trains.

"It was just a few minutes, and the service was restored," the official said by phone, quoted by elcaribe.com.do.

In the social networks commuters reported that the stoppage lasted around 30 minutes, in the north-to-south tracks.
