Police return opposition party offices vandalized in clash

Santo Domingo.- Police Maj. Gen. Nelson Rosario Friday morning handed over the headquarters of Dominican Republic’s major opposition party (PRD), to Julio Marinez , one of its senior leaders.

With the handover of the building to the PRD leader, the National Police and the Interior and Police Ministry comply with the Superior Electoral Court’s (TSE) ruling handed down two weeks ago.

PRD president Miguel Vargas is expected to receive the facilities formally after Interior and Police officials inspect the interior.

The PRD offices had been under police control after the intraparty clashes injured eight people and where vandals caused extensive damage to the site three weeks ago.
