Two mild tremors recorded in eastern region

Santo Domingo.– Two mild tremors of varying magnitudes occurred on Friday and Saturday in the Dominican Republic, with low intensity and therefore unnoticed by most of the population, reported the US Geodetic Survey.

The first quake of 3.5 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred Friday at 9:05 a.m. local time and was detected at a depth of 141 km in the eastern region 24 km SW of Boca de Yuma, 31 km SE of La Romana and 55 km SW of Punta Cana.

The second tremor occurred at 7:36 a.m. local time with an intensity of 3.3 degrees and was recorded at a depth of 89 km, 44 km SE of Punta Cana and 90 km E of La Romana.
