Let the pigs eat the government’s rotten mangoes: Lawmaker

Santo Domingo.- Outspoken senator Wilton Guerrero on Monday urged president Danilo Medina to "shake the tree so the rotten mangoes fall and see if the pigs want to eat them."

The legislator said there are officials who have nothing to lose, either morally or ethically. "I doubt that there are pigs that want to eat those rotten mangoes."

The lawmaker from Peravia province noted that February 27 is the stage to speak of the contracts with the miner Barrick Gold, the State-owned Power Companies (CDEEE) and public safety plan.

Every Independence Day, February 27, the sitting Dominican president renders account of their Administration before both Chambers of Congress, and also makes changes of his cabinet and military and other officials.

On the row over Bahia de las Aguilas, Guerrero said if the president hadn’t rectified his decision, Medina would’ve had an indelible stain on his term in office.
