Dominican man suspect in 1994 Pennsylvania case murder extradited to US

Santo Domingo.- A fugitive on the run for more than 18 years after allegedly murdering a Pennsylvania man has been extradited to the U.S. following his arrest in the Dominican Republic.

Francisco G. Miranda, 50, was caught in the Dominican Republic in November after evading authorities for nearly two decades. He is the prime suspect in the 1994 murder of 30-year-old Jorge Antonio Velazquez Jr., of Bethlehem, Pa., who police say was stabbed to death after a fight following a game of dominoes.

Miranda was reportedly found living in the southeastern city of La Romana. The extradition process was finally completed by U.S. Marshals and Miranda is now sitting in the Northampton County Prison.
