Medina to attend Chavez funeral, declares 3 days of mourning
Santo Domingo. – President Danilo Medina will attend the funeral of Venezuela president Hugo Chavez’, who died Tuesday, he was 58.
“Last minute: President @ DaniloMedina will attend the funeral of President Hugo Chavez in Caracas, Venezuela,” announced the Office of the Presidency on twitter.
Medina also issued Executive Order 69-13, declaring three days of mourning for Chavez’s passing, starting today Wednesday, when the Dominican flag will be at half-staff in military facilities and government agencies.
The President will reportedly fly to Venezuela Thursday and attend the funeral slated for Friday.
On Tuesday, Medina expressed “heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias, “an endearing and supportive friend of the Dominican Republic.”
