Canadian Embassy willing to mediate in Barrick case

Santo Domingo.– The commercial counselor at the Canadian Embassy in the country, Eric Gélinas, said that a delegation is ready to help resolve the conflict between the government and Barrick Gold regarding the contract to operate the Pueblo Viejo gold mine.

"We are here to help the Dominican government and the company to build a dialogue, we are at their service, for it is an issue between the government and a Canadian company," he pointed out.

After signing yesterday the book of condolences at the Embassy of Venezuela, the diplomat highlighted his embassy is interested in finding a positive solution for both sides.
