Retired Dominican Navy Admiral agrees to extradition

Santo Domingo.- The former National Drugs Control Agency’s (DNCD) Chief of Operations Monday morning signed his voluntary extradition to the United States, where he faces drug trafficking charges, local media report.

Retired Navy admiral Francisco Antonio Hiraldo signed document in the Supreme Court 2nd Penal Chamber, headed by justice Miriam German.

Hiraldo, who faces charges of criminal conspiracy with the drug ring headed by Army captain Quirino Paulino and other major cartels in the region, in the highest ranking officer to be indicted in a narcotics case.
