Medina could announce anticrime Plan this afternoon

Santo Domingo. – President Danilo Medina will announce the details of the National Public Safety Plan as soon as Tuesday afternoon, just weeks after revealing the push to fight widespread crime, during his February 27 speech before the National Assembly.

Speaking briefly to reporters in the Palace, Medina called it a comprehensive initiative, aimed at creating a government policy designed to tackle crime and its root causes jointly.

The chief executive said the anti-crime Plan’s provisions will be the result of a thorough evaluation of many variables, conducted by a high-level committee appointed for that task.
