Navy rescues 4 American fishermen adrift near Saona Island

Santo Domingo. – A Navy patrol on Tuesday rescued and took to La Romana four Americans who on Monday set off to fish aboard a boat that went adrift some 33 miles south of Saona Island.

Cullen Cone, Stephen West, Bryan Reckling and Luke King were fishing on the Boston Whaler-type boat La Bruja, were rescued one day after having set sail from the marina at Cap Cana

Navy spokesman Antonio Cabral said the Maritime Operations Center sent patrol boats to the area after monitoring an SOS from the crew.
