Washington DC Interpol help local agents arrest murder suspect

Santo Domingo. – Police agents assigned to Dominican Interpol on Tuesday arrested in Santiago’s Cibao International Airport, a fugitive wanted in the city Santo Domingo West.

The Dominican Aquilino Garrido’s detention resulted from cooperation by Interpol in Washington DC, who alerted the fugitive’s arrival in the country.

Interpol said Garrido was wanted in a "red alert" international arrest warrant on charges of murder, assault and illegal weapons possession.

It said the detainee will be arraigned in the next few hours.
