DR and Vietnam to establish diplomatic relations
Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina yesterday received a delegation of Vietnam’s Communist Party, with whom he discussed the possibility of establishing diplomatic relations.
The meeting was held in the National Palace, where the president talked about the construction of a Dominican embassy in Vietnam and vice versa, an initiative for which no date was set.
Tran Dac Loi, deputy head of the CPV Central Committee’s for External Relations, invited Medina to visit his nation when deemed appropriate.
At a press conference Dac Loi announced the opening today of the Ho Chi Minh Plaza in Santo Domingo, in honor of the Vietnamese revolutionary leader.
