Rains forecast for weekend

Santo Domingo.- In what comes as encouragingnews for farmers but not so good for Easter weekend beachgoers, the NationalMeteorological Office is forecasting moderate to light rains over the countrydue to a frontal system located over western Haiti.

Onamet says showers are most likelyin the northeast, north, northwest, central cordillera and border regions.

At the same time, the weatheroffice is reiterating its call for the public to save water due to the ongoingseasonal drought that is affecting almost all of the country.
