Pulitzer Junot Diaz nominated for another major prize

NEW YORK.- Junot Diaz is among the finalists for a literary prize awarded by the American Library Association (ALA), with a nomination for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, with his ‘This Is How You Lose Her,’ AP reports.

In addition to the Dominican-born Pulitzer Prize writer, Louise Erdrich for ’The Round House’ and Richard Ford’s ‘Canada’ also compete for the US$5,000 prize.

The ALA announced the candidates Monday and announces the winners at its annual conference in Chicago on June 30.

Created in 2012, the Carnegie awards are made possible with funds from the Carnegie Endowment for the Arts.
