Agents conduct raids, nab one of 2 suspects in Police colonel’s slaying

Santo Domingo.- One of the two suspects in the shooting death of Police Col. Julian Suarez was detained Thursday during a raid of a house in the sprawling barrio of Cristo Rey, Santo Domingo.

The Police said Hector Eduardo Pichardo Hernandez, 24, was arrested in connection to Suarez’s death from one gunshot to the face during a protest outside the Santo Domingo State University (UASD) campus.

The agents also seized two phones, a knife and various unspecified documents, among other items, and hunt for the main suspect, identified as Wilson Javier Nicasio, still on the loose.

Searches were also conducted in various areas of the UASD campus, where agents also confiscate homemade guns, a wig and other evidence.
