2 US men rescued by Dominican Navy

Santo Domingo.– Two U.S. men who were sailing from the Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico have been rescued after their sailboat was disabled, said Navy spokesman Antonio Cabral.

According to the report, William Andrew Jackson and Richard Nell Lewis had departed on Wednesday from the north coastal town of Samana. Cabral said that a few hours later, the 13-meter sailboat named "Sweet Melissa" experienced mechanical problems and a sail broke.

Cabral said the sailboat was towed back to Dominican territory and added that the two men were in good condition. He said authorities did not have hometowns for the men.
