State requests more time to prepare Bahia de las Aguilas fraud case

Santo Domingo.- The National District Office of the Prosecutor on Thursday requested an extension of the deadline to file evidence and motions in the Bahia de las Aguilas land fraud case.

The trial against former Dominican Agrarian Institute director and main suspect, Jaime Rodriguez Guzman is slated to start June 6.

His wife and his brother are also accused of defrauding the State out of thousands of hectares of beachfront lands in Pedernales (southwest).

National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso said more evidence to be filed at the first hearing on the title fraud case is still being collected.
