Prosecutor rejects complaint against Leonel Fernandez

Santo Domingo.– National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso decided to definitely reject the complaint for alleged corruption and money laundering, filed by former presidential candidate Guillermo Moreno, against former President Leonel Fernandez and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode).

The final decision was notified Friday afternoon to both Fernandez and Moreno. Immediately, Fernandez’s lawyer, Radhames Jimenez Pena, said the prosecutor acted attached to the law, "because we are facing a reckless complaint without any basis".

Moreno described the decision as "unusual and irresponsible" and announced he will interpose an objection so that the case does not go unpunished.
