Crime wave: Military to help Police in patrols

Santo Domingo.- Armed Forces minister Sigfrido Pared on Tuesday said cooperation with the National Police will be bolstered with more military taking part in patrols, to put an end to the recent crime wave.

He said the increased Police-military patrols will help lower crime, and will be deployed in the busiest thoroughfares of the capital and other major cities.

Speaking in the ceremony to mark the Naval Academy’s 138th anniversary, Pared said the Armed Forces is ready to help the Police fight crime across the country.
