Police fires more than 10 agents “dog washers”

Santo Domingo.- Police chief Jose Polanco Wednesday announced the firing of more than 10 agents this week for failing to perform any function, and dubbed “dog washers” for the work they perform for individuals.

He warned that the more than 6,000 still active agents who’re still working for private individuals and don’t provide any service in the Police will run the same fate. "This is about those agents who serve individuals, usually businesspersons, politicians, officials and retired generals."

Polanco, speaking after a ceremony to disburse more than RD$42 million in retirement pay to 102 officers, warned that when those agents who don’t work for the police are located, they’ll be fired at once.
