Suspicious Dominican plane crashes in Haiti, 2 dead

Santo Domingo.- A Dominican-registry plane crashed in Haiti Tuesday morning, killing its two occupants who were completely charred.

Haiti Aviation officials seek collaboration to identify the victims of the aircraft registration HI-892 which according to reports, left the country without a flight plan, for which Dominican and Haitian authorities suspect illegal activity.

Outlet diariolibre.com reports that the plane is registered to a Dominican businessman who sold it to two Hondurans a few months.

The aircraft went down on a mountain near the town Jeremie, south of Port au Prince and according to investigators immediately burst into flames with its occupants trapped inside.

Residents said the twin-engine, 9-passenger plane caught fire when it crashed “like a ball of fire.”
