No charge to sellers to transfer sold cars during two months

Santo Domingo.- Internal Tax Agency (DGII) director Guarocuya Felix on Thursday announced a 2-months grace period to release, free of charge, those vehicles sold but are still registered to the seller.

He said the measure aims to rid the Agency of a "big problem," since many people have as many as five vehicles registered in their name long after having sold them, but a buyer, who’s responsible for the transfer, fails to complete the process.

Felix said the grace period for the seller -who’ll be discharged by filling a form- will last from August and September, after which the fee will be charged.
