Number of displaced people increases, COE says

Santo Domingo.– The number of people displaced due to the floods left by tropical storm Chantal increased Friday from 8.141 to 13.764, as well as the number of homes affected, which now stands at 2,228, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported.

According to COE director Juan Manuel Mendez Garcia, 25 communities continue cut off, 10 of which are in the Duarte province, 7 in San Cristobal, 7 in Sanchez Ramirez and one in Monte Plata.
