Fugitives surrender to face drug charges in the U.S.

Santo Domingo.- Two men wanted on drug charges in the U.S. on Monday decided to surrender voluntarily to face the accusations in court.

"I declare that I voluntarily agree to go to the United States of America, I decided to go voluntarily, I was not physically or psychologically pressured," said Edwin Rafael Mendez, at the Supreme Court’s 2nd Penal Chamber.

The extraditable José Osvaldo Rijo Jones also decided to surrender to face U.S. authorities, and declared his intention before the penal chamber Justices headed by Miriam German.
