Dominican President, U.S. Southern Command chief talk security

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina received the head of the U.S. Southern Command, general John Kelly at the National Palace Wednesday, when they discussed topics of regional and global interest, and stressed the cooperation between Santo Domingo and Washington.

During his stay in the country the U.S. official, plans to meet with Armed Forces minister Siegfried Pared and other military officials, according to the U.S. Embassy, which adds that Kelly will visit military facilities, to observe the Dominican Armed Forces’ contribution to regional security.

Also present in the meeting was Sigfrido Pared, U.S. Embassy chief of staff Daniel Foote, Col. James Wellons and Andrew Bayliss.
