Showers continue, taper off Wednesday

Santo Domingo. – The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) forecasts continuing downpours and thunderstorms for the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, Central Mountains and the border area, but not as frequent and intense as yesterday.

It said precipitation will decrease during the next 24 to 36 hours, with some scattered showers over the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and Central Mountains, from the prevailing east wind.

Onamet adds that an area of showers associated with a tropical wave over eastern Cuba will head west, has a low probability of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
