After scolding, builders of full-day schools to meet with Medina

Santo Domingo.- At noon Friday president Danilo Medina will head another meeting in the National Palace with the 920 contractors paid to build the classrooms and schools in the full-day program nationwide.

Through the meetings Medina seeks to expedite construction of the 10,000 classrooms planned for this year and see the work in progress first hand.

Delays have plagued construction of the classrooms, which prevented starting the school year in the 500 full-day schools, as Medina had pledged.

Earlier this month Medina was videotaped scolding a contractor by phone, after he saw how one of the schools had been left unfinished.
